Past Weekend

This past weekend we were jam packed. Friday night was Ty's end of the season party with his baseball team at Bostonville. The kids had lots of fun, and I had anxiety attacks being in a place with so many screaming children running around. Brody got another nursemaid's elbow while we were there, that I successfully popped back in. Go me, add that to my resume!
Saturday morning was Ty's last baseball game, against a team who uses lovely language. The children on that team especially loved the word jackass, and liked to tell our players that were coming up to bat that they were going to "bash their heads in with bats". Did I mention their dads were the coaches? Horrifying. Ty did great though. AS strange as it sounds, in some ways I am sad the season is over. Ty had such amazing coaches. They were so dedicated to really teaching the kids skills and have even offered to still practice with them over the summer. His main coach was actually a former college pitching coach.
After the game we met Nathan's sister and her boys and walked up to the lake for the Festival by the Lake. There were hundreds of vendors, food, and lots for kids. The kids were in heaven. The played games, bounced in the bouncy houses and even walked around with Meryl and I while we browsed all the gorgeous jewelry and other items for sale. Sunday morning I woke up to Brody throwing up in my bed (yay!) so I got up and stuck him in the bath. He then passed out on the couch. He didn't have a fever, but he was a sick little boy. Unfortunately I couldn't do much for him and he had to just sleep it off. I had Victoria's baby shower, so I got Nathan all set up for a whole bunch of "just in case" scenarios. I had to change twice before leaving because of being thrown up on, but once I was done changing and out the door, I was good. Victoria's shower was so much fun, and she looks absolutely gorgeous. it was so much fun getting to see my friend Meire, who just moved to Wakefield, and despite her having called me, I have been a horrible friend and have kept forgetting to call her back. She has two little ones herself, and is always so much fun to be around.
All in all it was a fantastic, jam packed weekend.
