Weekend Pictures

This weekend was beautiful out. Saturday Ty had an 11 o'clock baseball game, and he did great (a single, double and home run.) Nathan, his dad and brother started laying the stones for our walkway/patio area and almost finished, but we ran out of stones (the last picture of the patio area is from Saturday.) The kids and I watched The Tale of Despereaux, which we had read this past fall together. It was a fun night. Today we woke up and I blasted music throughout the house (the kids and I chose some Queen, always a favorite, Guns N Roses, The Who, and Micheal Jackson... and Boom, Boom, Pow from The Black Eyed Peas which is their new favorite dance song) and did a big cleaning while Nathan, his dad and brother finished the patio/walkway, leveled the yard with all the loom they had dug up for the patio/walkway, built a new mini patio area for Liberty, filled the sandbox and transplanted my two rose trees and rose bush. It looks BEAUTIFUL!!! In the next couple of weeks we will be spraying the hydro seed in the front half of the yard, and once that is rooted we will do the back half. We will also be taking down the steps leading to the porch now and building a mini deck. It's strange to think Keira will not know anything different than that. The kids and I walked the lake today. If you notice in the pictures, even though Keira has VERY limited time in the sun, and I try and keep her covered at all times, she is much darker than the boys. She definitely inherited the Native American skin tone (Nathan's grandfather was 1/2 Native American.) I'm starting the gym tomorrow night and have a busy week of school celebrations, baseball and preparing for Keira's Christening this weekend. Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend!

Keira at 7 weeks

Some Bullet Points

  • I am again back to complete exhaustion. I need to call in for reinforcements.
  • I start back at the gym Monday, yikes!
  • I need to make two of me, or figure out a way to be two places at once, because if it rains Tuesday, Nate's preschool's end of the year celebration will be moved to Wednesday which is Ty's author day at school. Help.
  • Baseball lasted for almost 3 hours last night, in the drizzle and Brody and Keira both screamed at the top of their lungs for the last hour and fifteen minutes of it.
  • I got to have a glass of wine and chat with friends this week and that was a major high light.
  • Nathan has been working on our patio/walkway/yard all week and last weekend, and will be this weekend. I have not seen him for more than an hour each day, which means despite that break with friends, I have been with all the children all the time. My nerves are shot.
  • Nate colored on his body with permanent marker three times this week.
  • Brody tried to head butt Keira this week.
  • I have a week to prepare for Keira's christening.

Boston Common

Today, along with Nathan's sister Meryl, we took the kids to Boston Common for a picnic and to ride the swan boats. We took the train in and the boys were all so excited about that. We had our picnic right when we got there, because a full belly is always best with the boys. After lunch we let the boys run around for a bit and get out some energy. Of course RIGHT as we were getting in line for the swan boats a massive thunder storm came. I'm talking lightening coming down all around and loud thunder. The swan boats of course closed and we made our way back to the subway station. We would stop when it got really bad... I mean torrential downpour bad, and start walking again. The boys LOVED our trip in the rain. We'll attempt it again another day. Even though our day didn't completely go as planned, we had lots of fun.
