Insanity

Brody likes to be naked. He likes this so much in fact, that he strips down at every chance he gets. This has now included when he sleeps. Once put in his crib for bed, he promptly de robes (diaper included) and then goes to sleep. When he wakes up he will bring his diaper with him, have me put it on when he has to go to the bathroom (yes, he is clearly ready for potty training) and then promptly takes it off again once he has finished. Brody has also learned to open doors, and shut them behind him, so it is always a fun game to play where has Brody gone now. He has not mastered the locks yet, but I am sure that is coming any day now. He knows what he has to do, but his tiny fingers can't quite turn that sliver of metal enough yet.
Keira slept for the first time all night (well 8 to 1030 to 6) and that was phenomenal.
Nate has had fun at his soccer camp all week, and even scored two goals in his game yesterday.
Ty is getting pumped about football season which begins Monday, which also means what little free time I had is over on Monday.
Please as a favor to my ever deteriorating mind, beginning Monday, do not complain to me about being busy or not having free time, because I may react horribly. I mean my bloodshot, sleep deprived eyes may burst if I hear complaints. I'm just saying, you will probably not get the sympathetic ear you expected and instead be greeted with a stressed out, raving lunatic foaming at the mouth.

Portrait Time

Keira had her first professional pictures taken today. I had received a coupon for a free portrait package from Olan Mills/K Mart, so I acted on it. (Can't beat the price, right?) She was her usual smiley, happy self, and I think she knew the photographer was telling her she was beautiful because every time she said it, Keira flirted with that camera even more than the last time. The photographer said she has never been able to take so many pictures of a baby this young before, and had the baby enjoy it so much on top of that... clearly she doesn't know her mother.
Well, almost 50, yes I said FIFTY pictures and four backround changes later, Keira had enough and we called it quits. Now if you have children and have had their pictures taken before, you know how these places suck you in and you know how hard it is to turn down buying just one photo never mind FIFTY. I am no way exaggerating when I say I could have purchased every single one. Ugh. I stayed strong and kept to a very "Keira" pose, close up, smiling with her tongue sticking out a bit, and holding her hands, for the free package, and couldn't resist buying one more. Now I feel guilty for not getting them all. Anyone have an extra $99 to buy the cd with the copyrights to the photos so I can have them all?

More Laughing and Squealing and Face Eating.

Please excuse my appearance, it was really hot...

Update for the week

Hello folks!
Sorry it has been a few days. We have had super hot, humid weather, but NO RAIN so that is fun and different for once! Of course this steamy weather coincides with the start of Nate's soccer camp (every morning 9-1030) and Ty's football season (less than a week away!) It is nice to be out and enjoy it none the less. It FINALLY feels like summer! We have been lucky enough to have lots of friends around to hang out with. We have had a few Breakheart Reservation excursions, and are having another tomorrow. I got Ty's bus info in the mail today, which means school is right around the corner. I know feel I will actually survive the summer, now that the end is in sight. I am looking forward to taking advantage of the nice weather and getting out with the kids as much as humanly possible.
Here are some pictures (soccer camp, Brody being funny, little pool pics, Keira on swings)

Marshmellows

As you can more than likely tell from all of my posts this summer, the weather has been crazy here. It felt like fall, and we decided to roast marshmellows with the boys and relax by the fire with them. They loved it! Incidentally, this was Keira's first time by the fire. Our chiminea broke from falling branches when the trees were being cut down last year, so for now, this will have to do for our fire pit. I think it serves it's purpose well!

Zoo

Although the weather wasn't fantastic today, it cleared up for our trip to the Franklin Park Zoo in Boston. We had a great time walking around and seeing the animals. We went with our friend and her two children. It was great being able to let the kids play for a while to get out excess energy.
