It's back, it's back, it's back!!! The sun came and graced us with it's wonderful presence. Never before have I truly appreciated the sun so much. It's glorious glow and warmth made me feel like I was a child waking up on Christmas morning. I would wake up and run to the window to check if it was there. I have not spent one moment more than necessary in the house the past three days. I have chosen to spend every waking moment outside, soaking in the beautiful weather. It seems like each day was better than the last.
Here's the wrap up;
Friday we spent the day with my mom and brother. We went to the "big slide" park in Arlington. Since parks are a bit too "young" for my brother and Ty, we didn't spend as much time there as Nate or Brody would have liked, but in their defense, the slide was scorching hot so we headed out and got them ice cream. We spent the rest of the day outside at my mom's house (remember our lawn is still off limits.) Saturday, Happy fourth of July, was the saying of the day. I was woken up by the boys screaming it as if it were one of their birthdays. I took them to Dunkin Donuts as a special "4th" treat" and we came home and got everything ready for our now traditional trip to our friend Anthony's brother's house in Dunstable. He lives in a gorgeous area, and has horses and he rents bounce-y houses and huge water slides, and Anthony continuously outdoes himself in the fireworks display every year, this year being no exception. It was so great to visit with people and the boys had such a great time playing. Nate even asked one of the other children's mothers for her phone number. He had a crush on her.
Unfortunately Brody was not a fan of the fireworks, or the idea of Nathan being over where they were setting them off. It the brief moments between them being set off, you could hear his wails for "Da-Daaaaaaaaaaaa, My Da-Daaaaaaaaaaaa." He calmed down afterwards. Nathan, for the first year (and we've been going up since Nate was about a year old) got injured. He sustained burns to both his hands, but is okay. The kids were all troopers, and really were well behaved. We made it home around 1130pm, and they all were very excited to get into their beds. They all slept in their clothes because no one wanted to change at that point.
Today we all (with the exception of Nate) slept until 930 (yes even Keira and Brody!) and Nate graced us with his presence at 1145. After everyone was up, and we did a quick cleaning we packed up and went to the beach with Auntie Kerrie. We chose Crane Beach in Ipswich for our first beach trip of the year. Man, was it packed with people! Nate made a friend quickly, and they played together the entire time. Ty hung out with Brody and Kerrie and Keira and I on the blanket, talking, and making sandcastles. It was great to spend time with Kerrie since she is headed off to Europe for a couple of weeks.
All in all we had such a fun weekend, it erases all the misery of being couped up in the house for so many weeks. I am looking forward to summer (hopefully) truly beginning. Tomorrow is my last day with Ty, since he leaves for Florida early Tuesday morning. I will miss him a lot, so I am hoping to have a fun day together before he goes. I hope you all had just as much fun as we did this past weekend!
Here are the many pictures from the weekend's festivities.
