Brody's 18 month checkup
Quick update...
Brody the Bull is now 33 1/2 inches tall (75th percentile) and 24lbs 10oz (25th percentile) so he is tall and skinny, although skinny is not even close to the word I would pick to describe him. Apparently he is just solid muscle... and big boned, although we won't scar him for life and call him that.
My 6 week checkup is Thursday... man I really live at the doctor's huh?
Due to his terrible cold, no shots for Brody today. He'll get them at Keira's next checkup. Keira has picked up this cold, no doubt due to Brody's gazillion kisses a day.
I started exercising yesterday! I am slightly sore today, but am working out as soon as I'm done writing this. 6 more weeks until I can take off this belly bandit. I desperately need to add new Velcro because i have it as small as it will go right now. Preggos out there, i HIGHLY recommend it!!!
Oh, and Nathan gave Keira her first bottle last night! She did great, and took it right away. I gave Nathan a crash course in warming up breast milk, and even had him test it on his wrist so he knew what temperature it should be. Yay for future freedom!!!

Tyler's Spring Concert Videos
Videos are a bit rough to watch... sorry for that. As I said, I was rocking Keira in my arms most of the time. The screaming child is thankfully not one of mine, and the last one you can hear Brody "singing" along.
Of course Nate wanted to sing me his song when we got home. Enjoy!
Oh! Ty is in the very back row, wearing a white Red Sox Jersey to the left of your screen.

Keira's One Month Checkup
Keira just had her one month check up, although she is now 5 weeks old. She weighed in at 9lbs 6.5oz and 21 1/2 inches long! She was in the 50th percentile for everything, which I don't think has ever happened with any of the boys. I was worried because her skin had broken out the past couple of weeks, which I first thought was newborn acne, then because it came and went and she was so gassy, was worried was an allergic reaction to my milk, but he said it was neither, just a touch of eczema and newborn bumpiness. He said it would fade in the next week or two. I got the okay to try and introduce her to a bottle via me pumping and Nathan feeding her. My "goal" is to try and pump twice a day so Nathan always has a bottle to feed her at night, and we have one extra in reserve so we can maybe sneak out to a movie together every now and then.
Ty had his 2nd grade Spring Concert yesterday also. He did such a great job! I will upload the video of one of the songs as soon as I get a chance. I only have one good video because I had to pick Keira up after the first song and didn't realize I was bouncing her and rocking her, so the videos came out very, well, bouncy and rocky. It would have made you dizzy.
Ty is at his baseball pictures now (Nathan took him along with Nate and Brody!!!) and then he has a game at one, and then we are changing and rushing off to Bellingham for Nathan's family party.
Last night Nathan and I hung out with Adam and Kim and I even got to have a glass of wine and hang out while the boys cooked for us. It was such a nice change of pace!!! They make good company too.
Hope everyone has a great weekend!!!

Just a Thought
As I was changing a particularly great newborn explosion diaper this morning I began to think; Those poor mothers way back when, who had many children because there was no real birth control, who had no diapers, besides cloth ones or just fabric draped on the baby's bottom, that had no washing machines to even wash those cloth/fabric diapers, to those women, who are our ancestors, I say thank you. I think if I could switch places with them for a day, my life would seem rosey and stress free... okay, less stressful. I need to see the positive side of things. For instance, I am not stuck back in time with many more kids than I have now, with no diapers and no washing machine, and no car to drive the kids around in if they needed to sleep and nothing else was working, and no school close so I would have to home school them. God thank you! My life just seemed so much easier today.

Confessions of a Sleep Deprived Mother
I have not showered since late Friday night. Yup, I feel probably grosser than that sounds. And that shower was at 130am and out of necessity because I was covered in cake batter and sauce and spit up and baby poop. Today I let Ty stay home from school because he didn't get home until close to midnight last night. He was up at 8am anyway. Brody was up at 6am and it took us bringing him into our bed and 45 minutes to get him to go to sleep, only to have Keira wake up 15 minutes later. My hair is pulled back into a ponytail and has been for two days. I feel snappy because of my utter exhaustion. I have major attitudes about this weekend, and how busy I am, and although there is nothing I can do, and it is no one's fault because they don't know how tired and packed our schedule already is, I find myself feeling bitter towards invitations and events... even our own. The truth is, under a normal, non-sleep deprived state I welcome these things, because I enjoy the adult interaction. I get bored and anxious when I don't have anything going on. This is quite rare though.
Tonight the tired screams and cries echoed throughout my house from Brody. The fighting was at an all time high between Nate and Ty. Sweet, little Keira has been cranky because she is gassy and has only slept a total of 3 1/2 hours today.
I mistook the time of Brody's appointment at the doctor for the time of Keira's and missed hers today, and had to reschedule to friday.
*Sigh*
