We survived another year of costumes, trick or treating, and candy overload... well that last part has yet to be proven...
As you can tell from the previous pictures i posted Ty went as Dracula, Nate as Frankenstein, and Brody as a dragon. The boys had lots of fun trick or treating in our neighborhood and even got to pet a boa constrictor!!! (One man was clearly into the spirit of Halloween and had his house decorated with strobe lights and a fog machine and different animatronics... and he was wearing his pet boa constrictor around his neck... he took it off to let the boys touch it. Quite the experience.) I swear the boys got about 7 lbs of candy each! The amazing part was, most of the houses were giving out FULL sized candy bars. The boys were very excited.
We got them home and in the shower and bath, and got ready as fast as possible and headed to Nathan's parents' house where the kids stayed while we went to our Friend's house for a Halloween party. Nathan dressed up as the joker a la Heath Ledger, and I was a maid (not a far cry from everyday life.. ha) we had a lot of fun and are so thankful to have been able to get out amongst adults for a change!
We picked the boys up on our way home and everyone was fast asleep, and stayed that way well into the morning.
I had reserved a pass from our library earlier in the week and took the boys to the Stone Zoo today. I must say that normally, this zoo is a sad, pathetic excuse for a place to keep animals, and you are lucky if you even see 3 animals the whole time, BUT they have revamped the zoo, built new habitats and I am happy to report we say pretty much EVERY animal there! With the exception of a few that couldn't come out because it was too cold. It was such a nice surprise, and the boys were so happy... and I was happy to have them walk off as much candy as they could!
I am quite ready to crash at this point because I have pushed myself to the limit the past few days, all while recovering from some terrible stomach bug. I am praying that I can take a nice nap with Brody in a few minutes.
I hope everyone had a GREAT Halloween... don't eat too much candy!
I will leave you with a few more Halloween pictures!!
